What Happens On Our Wine Cruise? A Real Day-to-Day Look

There’s a certain kind of magic that happens when you blend great wine, new places, and good company all on the open sea. If you’ve ever wondered what to expect from a wine cruise, especially one like the
Danza & Masia Wine Cruise, you’re in the right place.

This guide is meant to walk you through the experience, giving you a real sense of what to expect as a Danza member joining us for this unique journey.

Day 1: Boarding, Settling In, and That First Toast

The adventure begins the moment you board the ship in Los Angeles. There’s no rush. Just friendly faces welcoming you as part of the family. After a smooth check-in, you’ll have time to settle in and then join an open reception (with unlimited sparkling) as we sail away.

You’ll have a chance to get comfortable in your stateroom or suite, maybe unpack, maybe just take it all in. As the ship starts moving, everyone gathers for an opening reception. It’s casual, warm, and sets the tone: good wine, new friends, and a few days of letting go.

Day 2: Tastings, Pairings, and Plenty to Savor

Waking up at sea is something everyone should try at least once. After a relaxed breakfast, it’s time to dive into what you really came for: wine.

The day is packed with chances to learn and taste, but never feels rushed.

You’ll join a private wine tasting with cheese pairings hosted by Walter Carter, Executive Director, to explore different wines and what makes each unique. You’ll be able to ask questions, swap tasting notes, and maybe even discover a wine you’ve never tried before.

Later, sit down to a multi-course dinner with great company. These meals aren’t stuffy; they’re about enjoying flavors and sharing stories with people who get why wine is worth celebrating.

Day 3: A Relaxed Day in Ensenada

On day three, we dock in Ensenada, Mexico. Guests are treated to a winery tour excursion with optional lunch. You’ll get to explore a local vineyard, enjoy guided tastings, and immerse yourself in the region’s wine culture—no need to sign up separately.

After the tour, guests can opt to stay for a group lunch or return to the ship for a more laid-back afternoon. In the evening, we’ll gather again for a group dinner – another chance to connect, unwind, and enjoy great company.

Day 4: Day at Sea- Fun, Relaxation, and a Farewell to Remember

Our final full day is spent entirely at sea, giving you the perfect chance to relax- or dive into a little adventure. There’s something for everyone: enjoy some sun by the pool, try your hand at pickleball, test your balance on the FlowRider surf simulator, or take in a trivia match.

For the more daring, there’s rock climbing, bumper cars, or even a little time in the onboard casino.

Whether you’re unwinding or exploring everything the ship has to offer, it’s a day to enjoy at your own pace.

As the sun begins to set, we’ll come together for a special farewell cocktail party. This member event is our way of closing the trip on a high note, filled with toasts, laughter, and the kind of moments that make this cruise so unforgettable.

Day 5: Depart Ship (7 am- 9 am)

On the final morning, guests disembark between 7–9 a.m.

It’s always a little bittersweet to say goodbye, but our goal is for guests to leave with new connections- both with fellow wine lovers and the Danza & Masia crew.

What Really Sets This Wine Cruise Apart

For anyone considering the trip, here’s what makes it different:

  • You’ll enjoy the company of other members of the Danza & Masia family

  • You’ll get to talk with our team, ask questions, and get to know the wines in a way you just can’t at a typical tasting.

  • It’s relaxed, flexible, and genuinely about celebrating wine, life, and good company.

If you’re someone who values a thoughtful, meaningful experience over big crowds or cookie-cutter tours, you’ll feel right at home here.
