Cashier, Host/Hostess
DEPARTMENT: TASTING ROOM
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Greet all guests upon arrival in a warm and welcoming manner.
- Consistently demonstrate best-in-class customer service skills and poise and tact in working with the public
- Manage the table seating and assign wine ambassadors to our guests when busy.
- Work cross-functionally with the guest services/barback team
- Handle routine purchasing transactions.
- Participate and assist with private group tastings and events at the winery
- Help Bus and Polish Glass, pack wine orders, and assist in various side work tasks
- Help clearing and setting tables as needed.
- Engage in proactive teamwork with all members of the Tasting Room team
Dates and Hours
- Part-time: 12-24 hours a week
- Employees are asked to be available to work on most:
- Holiday long weekends (Saturday, Sunday, and/or Mondays)
- Special Events weekends (approx. 5 per year)
- Plus, occasionally…
- An evening event (i.e. Wine Club Party, Winemaker’s Dinner, usually 8-10 per year)
Qualifications
- Must be 18 years of age.
- Must be available to work weekends and holidays.
- Must be able to work special events ( i.e. barrel tastings, wine club pick-up parties, etc.)
- Prior cash register experience helpful
- Able to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods.
- Previous experience in a fast-paced, guest-facing role; preference is given to those with experience in wineries, restaurants, or retail.
- Positive attitude, good conversational skills, and enjoy working with the public.
